Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
- Responsible for planning and servicing of customer and prospect accounts by regular customer visits to territory accounts.
- Responsible for planning and servicing of selected major accounts by regular planned visits to branches and key contacts, i.e., regional and area management.
- Responsible for development of business from new accounts, competitor accounts and new market sectors.
- Be aware of customer and prospect credit ratings.
- Maintain sales volumes and gross margins in line with budgeted targets.
- Identify product opportunities through customer enquiries and demand.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in conjunction with relevant Werner UK Sales department.
- Assist with company trade shows and attend customer trade days and shows.
- Agree on promotion activity with approval from GM for territory accounts.
- Agree on promotion activity at local level with major accounts, with approval from Manager.
- Liaise with sales office and credit control, for customer account details, price amendments and terms of trading.
- Liaise with marketing department on promotion and new product initiatives.
- Be proficient in demonstrating and presenting full Werner Co and Werner UK Sales product range to customers and prospects.
- Report customer issues and all accidents or product failures to the relevant Werner UK Sales department.
- Report weekly call activity and forward planner to Manager punctually.
- Be familiar with company procedure for placing and fulfilling customer orders.
- Update customer price agreements and trading terms within the specified time period
- Maintain all customer records and price files in line with company procedure.
- Be aware of competitor activity, prices, and products, and advise of changes in market conditions and trends.
- Be involved in training of new members of staff.

The Regional Sales Trainee role, will also include shadowing various team members, participating in learning experiences, attending meetings and workshops, and travelling to other working environments to gain practical experience.
